EEMS (Energy Efficient Motorsport) is holding a conference entitled 'Future Fuels in Motorsport' to be held on 19th June 2007 at Oxford Brookes University, near Oxford.
This event will bring together organisers, teams, regulators, and suppliers to identify the opportunities and address the barriers regarding the wider uptake of alternative fuels being used within the sport. For this event, 'future fuels' embraces all technologies that provide motive power and hence covers different fossil fuels, biofuels, hybrids and electric as potentials for the future.
Professor Garel Rhys will be giving a keynote speech on developments in mainstream automotive outlining the fuel technologies being researched within the industry.
There will also be talks on Fuel Options with individual suppliers outlining some of the breakthrough work that they have been pioneering; Regulating and Scrutineering, which will address the hurdles to be overcome before a new fuel technology can be admitted and Conversion and Participation where a series of case studies will be presented from all levels of motorsport by competitors who have been early adopters of Energy Efficient technologies.
Speakers include David Lapworth - Prodrive, Richard Karlstetter - Global Technology Manager Racing Fuels, Shell; Jon Horsley - Zytek Group Director; Peter Riches - BTCC Chief Scrutineer; John Symes - MSA and Roland Wolk - OMV.
EEMS is an industry initiative whose vision is to work with the UK motorsport industry to put energy efficiency at the heart of modern motorsport.
